Kit #2-6F Installation Instructions

For 1992-Present 16" Ford Dually 8 hand hold

The picture to the left shows the final position of the valve stems when they are in the wheels and mounted on the vehicle. Notice both valve stems end up 180 degrees out from each other.
Use the blue thread locker that comes with the kit only on the four rear dual stems.
When installing this kit is not necessary to dismount the tires from the rim.
Any valve stem with a red line on it, the red line will face towards the tire.

Installation Instructions

Raise the vehicle so that all 6 tires are off the ground 1 inch. If the vehicle comes with simulators, remove all 6 simulators.
Remove the front wheels and install the front two stems as you would any metal valve stem, rebalance, reinstall on the front of the vehicle and torque to factory specs.
Right Rear Duals
- Remove right rear duals.
- Starting with the inside dual,
  - Remove old stem, pick up long straight inner stem, remove nut, concave metal washer, and 3 mm rubber washer.
  - Apply blue thread locker to threads on stem and insert stem through valve stem hole in wheel.
  - Install 3 mm rubber washer, concave metal washer and nut.
  - Position Red line on stem so it faces the tire.
  - Torque nut to 35-45 inch pounds.
  - Balance wheel and remove from balancer laying face up on the floor.
- Proceed to the outer dual,
  - Remove old stem. Remove curved outer stem from the kit and remove nut, concave washer, and 3 mm rubber washer.
  - Apply blue thread locker to the threads on the stem and insert stem through valve stem hole in the wheel.
  - Install 3 mm rubber washer, concave metal washer and nut.
  - Torque to 35-45 inch pounds.
  - Now take that wheel to the balancer making sure that the valve stem is at the 6 o'clock position when placing it on the balancer. Once that tire and wheel are balanced make sure before you take it off the balancer the valve stem is at the 6 o'clock position again!
  - Remove wheel from balancer and carefully stack it on top of the inside dual that is on the floor.
- Position the stems 180 out from each other (directly across from each other). Line up all lug nut holes.
- Now is the time to check fitment of rear simulator. If needed reposition long inner stem (bend).
- If fitment is okay, remove simulator, take wheels back to the vehicle, and install inner wheel with the valve stem at the 12 o'clock position.
- Install the outer wheel with the valve stem at the 6 o'clock position making sure that the air thru caps are not on at this time.
- Torque lug nuts to factory specs.
- Now install the 2 inch rubber stabilizer in the outer wheel over the inner valve stem. (It may be necessary to relocate the hole in the rubber stabilizer by elongating it.)
Repeat step 3 on the left side of the vehicle.
Install all simulators and air through valve caps.

Note

This kit takes one good tire technician approximately 2 to 2.5 hours from start to finish to complete.
This dually kit works with 95% of all simulators on the market today. The other 5% will have to be modified slightly. (If modification is needed, make a small notch to allow the simulator to clear the outer wheel's valve stem.) Do NOT try to modify the outer valve stem.
