Road Bike Races
- Death Valley to Mt. Whitney Road Race, Annual
- Saturday and Sunday, May
- This is a point-to-point stage race with winners decided by overall time for the two days. Stage 1 -- Stove Pipe Wells to Lone Pine (78 miles). Stage 2 -- Lone Pine to Mt. Whitney Portal (22 miles). Sanctioned by the USCF. Ascending category 1 and 2 climbs the first stage, and one monstrous climb in the second stage. This is the most demanding two-day race you will ever attempt!! Combined cumulative elevation gains of over 14,000 ft. rivals the toughest mountain stages in the Tour de France. With extended climbing of 7% to 10% the first stage, and 14.5% the second, you will ride the barren wasteland of Death Valley to the Majestic snowcaps of the Sierra Nevada.
