We've Been Bit By The Trailer Bug!

We have started construction on a Teardrop trailer to pull behind our '47 Packard, 54 Chevy wagon, and '03 S-10.  The place we are going will dictate which car tows it.  The trailer is loosely based on plans from DesertTeardrops, using their outline as a guide with the rest our own design.

Wiring in place, adding insulation  May 8th

Trim on one side.  Oak will darken slightly with varnish.  Holes on top side pieces will get covered with top material trim.  May 17th
July 9th
First outing at the local cruise night, July 9th (after taking a month off for vacation)  Door, Rear Hatch, and interior still need to be finished  Being towed by the 54 Chevy wagon, got the custom hitch made the day before this picture was taken.

Frame of rear hatch in place on back.  Upper section will be covered with the same material as roof, lower sections are exposed oak that have tounge and groove cedar behind, stained to match the sides.  I'm trying this to get a different look on the back and have enough material for strength since both sides of the cedar will be visible.  August 8th
Side Door
Side door installed with custom hinges made from 1/8 and 3/16 steel with brass plating
