How To Configure
Pegasus Mail for RidgeNet

Introduction

These instructions were designed for users who wish to use Pegasus Mail 3.0 for their email reader/client. Pegasus mail is one of the most powerful and feature-rich clients available on the web. It is shareware, freely downloadable at Pegasus Mail Home Page.

Step 1: Network Configuration

  • Open the Pegasus Mail program.
  • Click on File.
  • Click on Network Configuration.
  • Make certain you are on the tab labelled Network.
  • In the field Your e-mail address is, put in your email address. You email address will follow the format shown, ie. "username@ridgenet.net"
  • In the field POP3 Host, put in mail.ridgenet.net
  • In the field User name, put in your RidgeNet username. In the example, it is jsmith. Your username is one word, all lower case letters, and contains no spaces.
  • In the field Password, put in your RidgeNet password. Your password is case sensitive, so any upper case letters must be typed in as upper case. As with usernames, there are no spaces in passwords.
  • In the field SMTP Host, again, put in mail.ridgenet.net
