How To
Reconfigure Outlook Express


Introduction

This instructions were designed for people wishing to reconfigure a e-mail account. It was also intended for the people who wish to setup Outlook Express for a second e-mail account.

Step 1: Accounts

First you have to get into Outlook Express.
  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Click Tools.
  • Click Accounts.
  • Click the Mail tab.
  • Select the mail account that you want to view the properties of and click Properties

Step 2: Personal Information

The personal information has Space provided for Your Name, e-mail address.
  • Click beside Name and type in the name that you wish people to see when they recieve e-mail from you.
  • Click beside E-mail Address and type your e-mail address.
  • Click beside Reply address and type your e-mail address.

Step 3: Configuring The E-mail Server

This is where you confgure what mail server you want to use. It also gives you the chance to specify the username and password.
  • Click on the Server Tab.
  • Click beside Incoming and Outgoing server and enter address mail.ridgenet.net.
  • Then click beside account enter your USERNAME.
  • Click beside password and enter your PASSWORD.

Step 4: Ridgenet Connection

  • Select Connect using my phone line.
  • Then click the down arrow under Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection.
  • Click your Ridgenet connection so it appears like the picture to the right.
  • Then click Apply, and OK.
