Configuring E-mail
Using Netscape 4.06

Introduction
Netscape Communicator 4.06 includes a program called Messenger Mailbox, which is an email program. This email program can be used to send or receive email from within Netscape. This tutorial was designed to assist the configuration of the Messenger Mailbox.
Step 1: Getting To the Preferences

First things first. You need to start Netscape. To configure Netscape, you do not need to be on the Internet. After you have configured Netscape, you will need to connect to test the configuration and retrieve any e-mail on the server.
  • Click Edit, and then Preferences.
  • Click on the plus sign (+) beside Mail and Newsgroups.
  • Click on Identity.
  • Beneath Full name, enter the name that you wish people to see when they receive email from you.

  • Beneath email address, enter your email address.
    Step 2: Configuring the Server
This part allows a person to choose what type and where the server is on the Internet. Ridgenet currently supports both IMAP and POP3 types of mail servers.
  • Click on Mail Server.
  • Click beside Mail Server Username and enter the Username that you use to connect.
  • Then enter mail.ridgenet.net beside both Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server.

  • Press Ok, and you're done.
