St. Mark's Mission

Services
Sunday: 7:00 AM Holy Eucharist Rite I
10:00 AM Holy Eucharist Rite II

In the second half of its first century, St. Mark's Mission in Tracy finds itself growing in all directions. Tracy is no longer a sleepy farm town, it is booming in every direction as more and more people move here to find affordable, yet gracious, living.

The congregation has a core of committed families, some of whom have been involved at St. Mark's from its founding! Others have joined this hearty band of souls as we try to live out the gospel mandate. Young families are adding to the depth and richness of our congregational life. But not to be outdone, "single folk" are finding a warm welcome at St. Mark's as well. We come from all crossroads of life: we have farmers, engineers, fire fighters, teachers, lawyers, stay-at-home moms, nurses....you name it and you'll find us all worshiping here.

In the Episcopal Church, St. Mark's is considered a "Mission Congregation." As such, The Rt. Rev. John-David Schofield, the 4th Bishop of San Joaquin, is the Rector of the mission. His Vicar, the priest responsible for pastoral ministry and leadership at St. Mark's, is The Rev. Dr. David C. James. Fr. James is both a graduate of the Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, as well as an alumnus of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Seminary in Menlo Park, California.

If you live, work or play in Tracy, please consider this an invitation to come on join us. We know that the deepest needs of your heart will only be fulfilled in a relationship with God and his people. And since our Lord taught us that everyone has gifts and talents to use for the building up of his Kingdom, we can certainly use the help.

May God bless you in your search for Him.
