Frequently Asked Questions

Why Do You Have a Web Page?

This page is a result of a 2-1/2 hour class Jeanie took in 1998. She learned how to write basic HTML code and put the page up so friends and family can keep track of the Salyer Family and their many endeavors. We're glad you're visiting!

What Can I Expect to Find Hidden in This Website?

Jeanie spends a lot of time doing and talking about crafts (scrapbooking, rubber stamping, card making, plastic canvas needlepoint, computer graphics). In October 2005, she retired after 20 years of federal service. She continues to work occasionally as a contract freelance sign language interpreter for the nearby Navy base. As a sign language interpreter, she deals with American Sign Language, Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community. A language lover, she's fascinated with linguistics, foreign languages and is trying to learn Danish. As a birthmother, now reunited with her first daughter, she enjoys discussing adoption issues.

Floyd has lived an interesting life around the state of California which is detailed on his page. Plus, you'll see photos from his January 1999 deep sea fishing trip to Morro Bay! He turned 55 in July 2005 and works as a carpenter doing concrete for the Kiewit Pacific Company. He loves to go fishing but doesn't do it nearly as much as he wishes he would. Plus, he spends time surfing the net for info ranging from boatbuilding and knife making to antique tools available for auction.

What can you tell us about the Horned Toad lizard?

Desert Horned Lizard The Desert Horned Toad lizard that lives in these parts is the Phrynosoma platyrhinos. Sadly, this cute little guy, like many other species of animals has been negatively impacted by man and modern technology.
